Aussie Beer Batter Fish

Ingredients

  • 4 fish fillets
  • cornflour
  • 2 cups plain flour
  • salt and pepper
  • 10 1/2 fluid ounces beer
  • oil, for deep-frying

Directions

  • 1 Dust fish fillets with cornflour.
  • 2 Mix flour, salt and pepper.
  • 3 Add beer gradually, stirring well until smooth.
  • 4 Dip the fish fillets into batter.
  • 5 Cook in hot oil until golden brown.
  • 6 Drain on absorbent paper.
  • 7 Serve with lemon wedges, tartare sauce and hot chips.
