Caramel Frosting for Angel Food Cake

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 3 1/4 cups powdered sugar


  • 1 Melt the butter in a saucepan and then add the brown sugar.
  • 2 Boil and stir for at least one minute.
  • 3 Take the saucepan off the heat and add the milk.
  • 4 With a hand mixer beat in the powdered sugar, one cup at a time until the spreading consistency is right for you.
  • 5 It should not be a very thick consistency for angel food cake, because it will harden as it cools.
