Ketchup Marinade for Steak or Chicken

Time: 8 hrs 5 mins

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 1/2 cup onion
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground pepper

Directions

  • 1 Dice onion very finely.
  • 2 Add all other ingredients.
  • 3 Stir well.
  • 4 Pour over chicken or steak.
  • 5 Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 8 hours.
  • 6 Remove meat from marinade and cook on barbecue to desired doneness.
  • 7 Pour marinade into a small pot and bring to a boil.
  • 8 Reduce heat and simmer until fairly thick.
  • 9 Serve warm sauce on the side.
